Dave Burke - Pastor
Dave Burke is the pastor or minister of Bethany City Church. He was born in Sunderland studied zoology at the university of Wales in Swansea, after graduation he worked in animal behavour research before joining the staff of Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship in 1979. Since then he has worked in churches in Bournemouth and Leicester. Dave returned to live in Sunderland in 1997 becoming senior pastor of Bethany Christian Centre in Houghton le Spring. He is married to Cathie, and has two children, Jonny and Emma. When he gets the chance, Dave likes wilderness, solitude and the sound of curlews. Pete Chilvers - Associate Pastor
Pete Chilvers is associate pastor of Bethany City Church, having moved north from London in 2005 with his wife Esther and their dog Max.
He graduated from Guy's Hospital, London in 1998 and worked in a number of dental practices in the UK, then spent 6 months as a mobile dentist in Zambia.
Like Dave, Pete was also on the staff of the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship, leaving to move to Sunderland.
He enjoys music, playing the piano, and reading historical novels. On rare occasions his trombone gets an outing.
Pete and his wife Esther also have a son, Nathanael.

Peter Errington Support Manager
Peter took early retirement in March 2007 after 33 years in the Insurance Broking Industry with a major multi national Broker. He now has the opportunity to do something he really enjoys! His role is to organise the administration and finance of a growing Church and to provide support to Dave and Pete.
Peter is married to Sue, a teacher, and father to 2 daughters (and one son in law) who are also all teachers. In his leisure time, he strives with little success to improve his golf handicap.
