  • A Walk Through the Bible

  • Don't Waste Your Life
    by John Piper

This book is like dynamite to the soul. It is ‘read a chapter a day book’ (too much explosive in one dose is, well, explosive), chapters averaging about 20 pages (190 pages altogether). If you don’t want to be challenged and changed, don’t read this book, but if that is you, hear the warning ‘Don’t waste your life’. Most people slip by in life without a passion for God, spending their lives on trivial diversions, living for comfort and pleasure, and perhaps trying to avoid sin. This book will warn you not to get caught up in a life that counts for nothing. It will challenge you to live and die boasting in the cross of Christ and making the glory of God your singular passion. Not for the faint-hearted, but hey, we only live once so give your heart a work out!

  • Humility: True Greatness
    by C J Mahaney

This book is short (160 pages), small (slightly bigger than a postcard) and packed full of punch (like a pepperami). It, like the others, is an easy read so whether you are used to ploughing through meaty tomes, it is for you. The writer paints a striking picture of the daily battle quietly raging within every Christian and asks whether you will passively give in to the enemy of your soul, pride, or actively cultivate your best friend, humility. When you intentionally humble yourself you will find a new life is yours – a life God richly favours. A God-glorifying life you don’t want to miss. Go on, get hold of it and read it. You won’t regret it!
